Fruity Pebble Rice Krispie Treats

Kayla and I were craving something sticky and fruity so when we were doing our shopping and found the Fruity Pebbles on sale we just had to make a huge pan of Fruity Pebble Rice Krispie Teats!

We demolished the pan in under an hour... maybe like a half hour.

We wanted something to eat but we couldn't come up with anything off of the top of our heads so we went to the cupboard and saw her canned chicken. That spurred off a fantastic idea.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

The day before school started this Fall semester Kayla and I, being involved with the tap number for World of Dance, had a Sunday dinner at Colleen West's home in Draper. We were assigned the task of making a dessert. Well, we decided to make Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Kayla and I were making them and we had some fun doing so and we had to take a picture of our epic failure in opening the can of Pumpkin... or I guess Kayla's epic failure in opening it.

Yes, it is opened bottoms up. Love it.

I have the best recipe ever. It is my Mother's recipe. It is so simple and easy to make. I almost have it memorized it is that easy. One of everything except the flour, you will see what I mean.

1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Butter (or just a stick)
1 Egg
1 cup Pumpkin
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Baking Powder
2 cups Flour
1 12 oz bag Chocolate Chips (I usually use Semi-Sweet in my cookies)

Mix ingredients in order as listed. Fold the chocolate chips in after everything has been mixed well. Bake on cookie sheet in oven at 350 degrees F. for 10 minutes.

I don't frost them, my mom never did either. I can't imagine them ever being frosted... however there is a frosting step in the instructions. So, I guess I should try that huh? Well, here it is if you want to try them frosted.
Frost with powdered sugar frosting (use orange juice instead of milk for liquid) or frost with cream cheese frosting.

The best thing about these cookies are that they freeze and store well in a covered container. They will stay moist for days on end. They are divine. Go try them out for yourself!

Until next time-

Welcome

Welcome to The Adventures of Chefs Kayla and Kaitlin!
As starving college students there isn't anything better than food right? Exactly. So, Kayla and I decided last night that we should start a blog together. Mainly a cooking/baking blog. We like to get together and make food. Sometimes it goes so well, but others it just is weird. We will try to upload pictures and the recipes we use with it so you can try them yourselves! So far we have about five recipes to add. Let's get this going! Enjoy our adventures as we face the world of cooking and baking. Yum!

Peace out
